The Root Radical Lending Library will host an opening reception to announce our launch in the Brattleboro community on Friday, May 1 at 5:30 as part of the city’s Gallery Walk and May Day festivities. The opening reception will happen in the library, so that the community may see the space and meet the people behind this ambitious project. People will be able to become members, borrow books, or donate books to the collection.
The library is a project of the Root Social Justice Center, located in the Whetstone Studio for the Arts building, which provides a physically and financially accessible space to support and bring together communities working for social justice. The Library was established to support individuals and organizations affiliated with the Root Social Justice Center, and more generally, for those affiliated with all activist and social change movements, especially those in the Brattleboro community.
